My wife and I moved to Black Butte Ranch, located 8 miles west of Sisters, Oregon, over 25 years ago. Initially we weren't sure how we would adjust to living in a small town - at the time Sisters had a population of 720. For about the first year we took monthly visits back to Portland for our Big City 'fix'. But, we quickly began to appreciate the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful scerery and friendly people in Sisters. We even adjusted to the lack of a traffic light within 25 miles!I wasn't exactly retired, but my small software business was becoming a financial drain. To keep busy, I began building websites, and over the years I've built sites for a variety of local artists, businesses, non-profits and events. I stopped building new sites a couple years ago. Templates have replaced custom sites limiing the "fun" designing sites. However, I found a new website design app and I'm still 'playing' with this site.This site has no specific purpose other than to provide a forum for me to share my photos, ideas and love of the local area.I keep regular "office" hours and think of myself as self-unemployed, not retired.
